Average Height: 5'9
Average Age Length: 80 years
Rarity: Common
General Info:
Elves are pretty much the Humans of Harenfell. They are exceptionally common. Over all, they are also known to be a rather picky race, akin to humans in temperament.
Characteristics:
They have the same characteristics as humans, except for their longer ears. They are a rather pale skinned race, living in the temperate climate of Harenfell. While some darker skin tones can exist, they remain rather pale. Hair color can vary just as much as Humans as well.
Religions:
Elves are known to worship all the Gods, but most commonly Heranora. They believe that when you pass on, you join your ancestors in the stars and the next life. When Elves are anywhere between eighteen to twenty one years of age, they are considered adults. Male Elves go through a process where their father's pierce the ears of their sons, marking them as honorable and mature men. If male Elves remain unmarked for any reason, they are considered outcasts. Damage to the ears is a symbol of dishonor and can prevent male elves from finding a mate.
Mating & Reproduction:
Elves tend to commonly find mates of the opposite gender. However, same sex couples do indeed exist, although less common. Mating outside of wedlock is forbidden in Elven society. In more modern times however, it happens more often. Regardless, if a pair of Elves are found to be mated outside of wedlock, the consequences can be dire. Less so death, more so dishonor and isolation. The affair is similar to Human relationships, where a male typically courts a female. Note that the female can indeed court the male, it just depends on the situation. Marriage is committed under the watchful eyes of Heranora, where blood is shed in her name. Elves can divorce from each other, but it isn't very common as Elves are too picky about their mates to often regret their decisions. Often mating for life. Their gestation and birthing processes are the same as humans, gestating for nine months then having live births.
