A rather grumpy older man, Kertin choose the life some Faetin prefer. The life of a beast. However, he changes forms to deal with the rabble at times and trade for supplies. The rest of the time, he remains a beast, a life he prefers. He never took a wife, never wanting to do anything but sleep around. He did this knowing that having children for him was supposed to be impossible. Key word supposed to be. He wishes to remain alone, for he always was alone.
